BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION OF SNEHASISH

16.2.2010, Kolkata: Today members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno have celebrated the birthday of "Shyamnagar Express"- Snehasish Chakraborty. After the morning practice session at Salt Lake Stadium, inside the dressing room the birthday was celebrated with birthday special cake and flower bouquet. Snehasish was overwhelmed with this type of arrangement there after the practice session. Barreto,Marcos,Biswajit,Karan,Branco,Kisku,Sagaram all were there during the celebration.

On behalf of all the Mohun Bagan supporters, Sabuj Maroon Swapno wishes best of luck to Snehasish for his future career and good health.

5.2.2010, Kolkata: Today it was the first day for Satyajit Chatterjee, our beloved Satyada in Mohun Bagan practice as the chief coach of the team after yesterday, taking the charge of the team. So, members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno were there during the practice session and after the practice on behalf of all the Mohun Bagan supporters Sabuj Maroon Swapno felicitated Satyada with a nice bouquet of flowers and wished best of luck for his new career as the chief coach of Mohun Bagan AC.

30.1.2010, Kolkata: Today it was the birthday of last year Mohun Bagan Ratna, Mr. Samar Banerjee aka Badru Banerjee. There is no need to tell in brief about Mr. Banerjee as every one knows his contribution towards Indian football and for his beloved club Mohun Bagan.

On the other hand, we, the members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno are really honoured as we have got this great personality as the LIFETIME MEMBER of our organization. We are really lucky to get his valuable suggestions and blessings in our way. So how can we forget this very special day?? So today Sabuj Maroon Swapno celebrated his birthday at his New Alipore residence. Members of SMS were there with a nice flower bouquet, a stole and cake. He was really happy to see the charm and enthusiasm with which SMS members celebrated his birthday.

Sabuj Maroon Swapno prays for his good health and hope we will get many more chances like this one in future too.

30.1.2010, Kolkata: As we all know that Wriddhiman Saha, the wicketkeeper-batsman from Bengal has got the selection first time in Indian National Cricket Squad for the coming test series against Proteus. According to all the selectors of Indian Cricket Board, at present Wriddhi is the best wicketkeeper through out the India (with keeping MS Dhoni in mind) if only the skills of wicket keeping are considered. On the other hand, Papali (Pet name of Wriddhi) has a good batting hand too. So, he really deserved the national call and it’s really nice to see Wriddhi in Indian National Team now. Hope he will get chance in the first XI too.

Meanwhile, Wriddhi is an asset of Mohun Bagan cricket team too and it can be noted that all the cricketers (Sourav Ganguly, Utpal Chatterjee, Manoj Tewari) who earlier got the calls for the National Squad from Bengal, got that calls while they were playing for Mohun Bagan. So you can say that there is a strong bonding between National Cricket Team and National Club of India.

Sabuj Maroon Swapno is always committee to do something for anything related to our beloved club Mohun Bagan and so this time we planned to wish Best of Luck to Wriddhi for his coming International career. So today we arranged a very simple programme in Mohun Bagan club lawn. Papali joined the programme after returning from the Custom’s ground where he was engaged for playing a match for Mohun Bagan against Ballygunge CA. Members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno welcomed him with SMS special scarf. A special memento was there for him and the programme ended with cutting the cake that we brought there for this event. Wriddhi was really overwhelmed with this felicitation and praised this kind of supportive nature of green and maroon fanatics. Thanks a lot Wriddhi for providing some time from your valuable schedule for this event and thanks to all the Print and Electronics media who were there to cover the programme.

26.1.2010, Kolkata: Yesterday members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno celebrated the birthday of Branco Vincent Cardozo and Chirodeep Chatterjee at the club lawn after the morning practice session. Sabuj Maroon Swapno members were present there with birthday cakes, flower bouquets, scarfs and 5 Goals calendar to celebrate their birthday. Our beloved Karim Sir and Marcos and Shanta Kumar were present there during the celebration. Sabuj Maroon Swapno is thankful to them to spare some times there out from their valuable time schedule.

On behalf of all the green and maroon fanatics, Sabuj Maroon Swapno wishes best of luck to Branco and Chiro for their good health and future career.

12.1.2010, Kolkata: 2009 was a memorable year for all the green and maroon fanatics, as in this year TEAM MOHUN BAGAN delivered some outstanding performance on the field. In this year, the record of 10 consecutive wins in the I-League was created by our team. We won the Super Cup and finished runners up in I-League, Durand Cup and IFA Shield. We also faced some sad moments too, as we lost to our arch rivals twice in this year. But what was the happiest day in this year for all the Bagan fans?? Yes absolutely right, it was 25th October, the HISTORIC DAY when we defeated our arch rivals and took sweet revenge of the defeat we faced in the final of 1975 IFA Shield. So 25th October was a special day for all of us which we will cherish throughout our life.

On the other hand, it’s the philosophy of life that when you want to move on, then you must  try to forget the dark moments of the past and just remember and cherish the sweet moments you experienced, that will boost up you during your journey. It’s the starting of 2010 and most probably we all will like to spend every day of this year with the sweet memory of 25th October, 2009. For this reason, Sabuj Maroon Swapno has selected the theme (5-3 victory over East Bengal) for this year’s Mohun Bagan calendar. This is a 12 page calendar, each page with an exclusive picture of that special derby and the description associated with that picture will surely help you to remember those special moments of that match. We are very sure that everyone will like this calendar and it is going to be a treasured for a lifetime by all the Mohun Bagan supporters. Not only that, 50 special dates which are related to Mohun Bagan in some way have been marked here in this calendar.

Today after the practice session, at our club tent, our respected and beloved KARIM SIR along with the magic man of that derby, goal machine Edeh Chiddi and our Japanese sensation Ryuji Seuoka launched the calendar. We are very thankful to them for sparing their valuable time in launching the calendar and a special thank you goes out to TEAM MOHUN BAGAN without whom this total effort could not have materialized.                       

Joy Mohun Bagan

17.12.2009, Kolkata: On 18th December, 1999, a footballer from the nation of “SAMBA” came into the “CITY of JOY” to give trial in the “NATIONAL CLUB of INDIA” and then the got the selection in the squad of Mohun Bagan. After a decade, now he is a symbol of love, joy and trust to all the green and maroon fanatics all over the world. He is none other than the Brazilian talisman, our beloved “JISUDA”- Jose Ramirez Barreto. On 17th December, 2009 he has completed his 10 years journey in Indian football and on his very special day Sabuj Maroon Swapno congratulated him after the practice match at the Club lawn. On behalf of all the Mohun Bagan fans, we presented Barreto a specially decorated flower bouquet carrying “10” on it and a specially designed card with pictures of Barreto on different celebration mood.

Sabuj Maroon Swapno also wished all the very best to TEAM MOHUN BAGAN for the coming Federation Cup and a flower bouquet and a well wishing card were handed over to Coach Mr. Karim Bencherifa after the press conference.

12.12.2009,Kolkata: It was Sabuj Maroon Swapno who first brought the concept of Tee-Shirt launching in the Kolkata football arena on any special occasion, say it on the arrival of Oliver Kahn at Kolkata to play his last International match abroad against Mohun Bagan or on birthday of our beloved “Jishuda”- Jose Ramirez Barreto; last January they also launched the Mohun Bagan Calendar with the idea to inform Mohun Bagan supporters regarding the significant dates associated with the rich history of the club; this year they again came up with the concept of something new in maidan area, launched a book of poems on their beloved club Mohun Bagan. Now this time just before the ending of year 2009, they have launched a greetings card and a cap in remembrance of the 5-3 victory of Mohun Bagan over arch rival East Bengal.

Yesterday after the KPL match, in the club tent, club Secretary Mr. Anjan Kumar Mitra and our beloved Karim Sir launched both the Cap and the greetings card in front of numbers of Mohun Bagan supporters and media personalities. We are really thankful to both of them for providing some time from their valuable time schedule.

We hope every Mohun Bagan supporter will appreciate both these items as they always appreciated in the previous occasions.

26.11.2009, Kolkata: Today members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno have celebrated the birthday of Shanta Kumar at his own residence. Shanta was very happy with the gesture, members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno made on his very special day and also appreciated this type of fans culture here in Mohun Bagan. On behalf of all the Mohun bagan supporters, Sabuj Maroon Swapno wishes Shanta best of luck for his good health and future career.

The main attraction of the grand party was the food and the mariners were not ready to eat anything other than prawn to make the celebration more symbolic. So chili prawn, chili chicken, prawn fried rice and prawn noodles were the menu for the grand evening. In this get together, conversations took place on future of SMS, Bangalore. Members present in the get together gave various plans about the future workings of SMS. It was not an end to the grand get together at Pet Pujo. Mariners headed to “The Esplanade” another Bengali restaurant nearby to get a feel of the Bengali sweets. Baked rosogolla with rabri was the item with which the grand evening ended. “Sweet end to a grand party”. During the party Miki Matsua, one of the active lady members of SMS, Bangalore chapter caught up with Ishfaq Ahmed, midfielder of Mohun Bagan on phone. Ishfaq congratulated us for having the party in Bangalore, so far from Kolkata. This conversation was a big boost for the all the mariners.

2.11.2009,Kolkata: It’s about one week back, when Mohun Bagan defeated arch rival East Bengal with a margin of 5-3, thrashing the ball 5 times in opponent’s goal and taking the sweet revenge of 1975. Edeh Chiddi created the record of scoring maximum of 4 goals by any individual in the derby match. The celebration started there at Salt lake stadium and this is still continuing in different parts of Kolkata. Yesterday Sabuj Maroon Swapno celebrated this historic win with great zeal throughout the day.

The celebration started there at club lawn, where all the players of our TEAM MOHUN BAGAN were felicitated after the morning practice session. Then came the most coveted moment of this celebration when the magic man of TEAM MOHUN BAGAN, Coach Mr. Karim Bencherifa and club Secretary, Mr. Anjan Mitra celebrated the Historic Win by cutting a “5” shaped cake, symbolic to the motive of celebration. Asst. coach Mr. Mridul Banerjee, Captain Sangram Mukherjee and the Nigerian sensation, Edeh Chiddi were there during this celebration time. Then on behalf of Sabuj Maroon Swapno, Mr. Anjan Mitra handed over a very special memento to Mr. Karim Bencherifa. The memento was a collage of different reports those were published on different news paper day after the historic derby match. Sabuj Maroon Swapno is really thankful to Mr. Anjan Mitra, Mr. Karim Bencherifa, Mr. Mridul Banerjee, Captain Sangram Mukherjee and Edeh Chiddi to spare some times there from their valuable time schedule.

In the evening, there was another grand celebration there at the registered office premises of Sabuj Maroon Swapno. Here the celebration started sharply from 5 PM resembling with the goal number (5) of the derby match. Not only members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno were there, but many Mohun Bagan supporters from different parts of Kolkata and outside Kolkata also joined the celebration. There was a complete Mohun Bagan ambience- celebration started with Mohun Bagan songs associated with dance. Then came the “Mega Surprise” of this event- a total team of four drum beaters- that added a real Bengali flavour to the celebration. Celebration continued with the fire works. The final round of the celebration completed with a lip-smacking dishes – Fried rice, Nabaratna Korma, Chili Chicken, Chatni, Papad, Rasogolla, Rajbhog, Ice Cream and Cold Drinks. Thanks to everybody who made this event a grand success.

Not only in Kolkata, Sabuj Maroon Swapno members also celebrated this historic victory even in Bhubaneswar. Members of Sabuj Maroon Swapno of Bangalore wing will also celebrate on 7th November, 2009 with delicious dishes of prawn.

So, hopefully this year we will get more chances like this one to celebrate.
